La Fonda

We had a wonderful family dinner at La Fonda in Barcelona. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable for families, and the service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent – tasty, fresh, and great value for money. From tapas to paella, everyone found something they really enjoyed. A perfect spot for a relaxed and delicious meal in the heart of the city. Highly recommended!

Our recent visit was largely enjoyable, with the familiar quality of food, service, and atmosphere holding up. We particularly appreciated the calamari , papas bravas, creamy lobster paella, chicken and vegetable paella, vegetable paella, and the excellent pasta de mar. It's worth noting that the paellas require a minimum of two orders, so plan accordingly. One thing to be aware of is that this is a Mediterranean restaurant, not strictly Spanish. Therefore, the paellas, while delicious, differ from the traditional Spanish style, notably in the absence of prominent saffron. While we enjoyed the meal, understanding this distinction is key to setting the right expectations. Overall, a solid experience. Don't forget to order the sangria as well 💞.

I had a great experience dining here while traveling in Barcelona! They offer amazing dinner deals with generous portion sizes and really good quality food. It can get quite busy during dinner time, but the staff were attentive and managed the crowd really well. The atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and overall it was a fantastic spot for a relaxed, satisfying meal. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for good value and a great dining experience!

Overall DO NOT RECOMMEND . Someone in our group had a COCKROACH fall on them from the ceiling. Our whole table screamed as we all saw it climbing on the wall. The whole restaurant saw. One of the workers caught it and then we requested a table change. However no apology or compensation was given. We were reseated upstairs, got different server who was nice but seems like they were busy because we still felt neglected. Food took forever to come out. We were missing cutlery. Food was very mediocre. The seafood pasta was so overcooked, lacked flavour. The pork red curry was decent, meat was tender. The sea bass was the best main dish. Cooked well. The service was terrible. Initial server was very rude when taking our order. Perhaps it was because we were a large group and had some questions. We asked if butter was free and a different server said yes but when the bill came there was a charge per piece of butter.

I do not know the prices but for 26 euro per person we ate a menu with an entree, main and desert, and also a beverage included. Portions are very generous and food is tasty. Shahid was very helpful. I also ordered a glass of sangria which was very very strong for me, so be careful!!
