In the very heart of Barcelona, you have a great opportunity to enjoy Spanish cuisine at the perfect place. I loved the vibe coming from Balthazar, so decided to make a reservation for next dinner. It was Monday, so restaurant was not full, but other days it gets very crowded. We tried arroz (very intense and delicious), some fish and ended on a sweet note with Crema Catalana and tart Tatin. Tart was bit different from what I know, but still good. Sangria was quite generous portion and really made our evening enjoyable. The service was nice and I would definitely recommend for brilliant experience in the city.

The food is alright but yummy. The sauces really makes the dish. Everything was cooked fine though. The dessert was too sweet for me. I had a reservation and we came right at 8pm.

Dinner set menu (~25 euros) was pretty worth it, the spinach salad stood out (with tomato balsamic vinegar) and the dessert (house special, Tim something?) was delicious but heavy. The paella and the grilled prawns were lacking in comparison.

We chose to dine at this restaurant because it's located right next to our hotel. Bad choice indeed. We waited for half an hour just to get the menu and another half for someone to take our order. We ordered a cheeseburger which was almost raw and its side fries were cold. For dessert we had the smallest and worst crema catalana we've ever had. The only tasteful dish on the table was the croqueta. When we were trying to get the bill the waiter noticed us clearly but continued to talk to another waiter. The entire experience at this restaurant was very disappointing.

Nice atmosphere but the lunch menu del dia does not represent their finest. Other dishes are better.
